Facebook’s iOS app now supports Live Photos

Facebook’s most recent update now provides support for Apple’s Live Photos on the iOS app. Live Photos allows a user to create moving images by capturing an image and adding a one-and-a-half-second video before and after the picture with the intention of creating a GIF-like feature.

Users can share Live Photos the same way they would share regular images on Facebook’s app. Anyone can view the Live Photos on Facebook, even if they don’t have an iPhone 6S – the phone released when Live Photos was introduced that simulates this feature.

Although there aren’t many iPhone 6S users, this Live Photos update will hopefully influence developers to adapt their apps for this feature, according to Mashable.
