Gifts that Give Back

Last week’s Insight put a spotlight on five very successful and inspiring companies that make it their mission to make our world a better place while providing consumers with high-quality products.

Why are so many of these kinds of brands coming to life and growing so quickly? We think it’s in response to several factors. First, the founders themselves care deeply about these causes – enough to give back, in many cases, a significant portion of their profits. Second, the founders have a vision to create a company with purpose that unifies their employees, suppliers and customers with causes they care about that align with the values of the brand. Third, the business strategy for these brands is meeting the needs of generation X, Y and now Z to help our planet and people in need. These brands therefore build a loyal customer base, which leads to positive reviews regarding their quality and service. No brand is perfect, and all brands are a work in progress. But these brands are trying harder to let their commitment to a bigger purpose drive their companies forward to delight their customers and to serve their world.

If you’re still looking for the perfect holiday gift (or if you haven’t started shopping yet), consider purchasing a gift that does more than put a smile on the face of the recipient. Give a gift that gives back this holiday season.

In addition to the outstanding products offered by Patagonia, Newman’s Own, TOMSBombas, and Warby Parker – the five all-star brands we featured last week – there are many other cause-minded brands out there whose products make for memorable, meaningful gifts.

(Please note that Princeton Partners is not in any way affiliated with these brands – we just really admire what they’re doing!
